Athirapilly is the land of rivers and forests and great waterfalls. The destination houses the largest waterfall in Kerala, the Athirapilly waterfall, and is often referred to as the "Niagara Falls of India".

We packed our bags to this 80 feet high and 330 ft wide marvel, the largest waterfall in Kerala.

Helicopter ride over the waterfall and lush greenery was an entirely new experience for us.

Drenched in the showers of Athirapilly Waterfalls

Athirapilly Waterfalls is the seat of extreme scenic beauty and tranquility. Located 60 km from the Thrissur district of Kerala, Athirapally Falls is a marvelous cascade of frothy waters that makes its way from the Anamudi Mountains of the Western Ghats.

It’s always good to carry an umbrella or a raincoat on your visit to Athirapilly waterfalls if you don’t want to get drenched in the showers. After enjoying to the fullest in Athirappilly, we decided to explore two more nearby waterfalls, Charpa and Vazhachal. En route Vazhachal Falls, we came across Charpa falls which was also a marvelous sight to watch.

Finally it was the time for our most awaited helicopter ride. It was really a sight worth short ride.  The scenic aerial view of the waterfall was not only magnificent  but also spectacular. Moreover it was very beautiful to view the greenery from the top.
