Dubai International Airport (DXB) is gearing up for a busy season as millions of travellers are expected to arrive in the city after the summer break. The world’s largest international airport has some handy tips for passengers to make their journey smooth and hassle-free.

If you are travelling with kids aged 4 to 12, you can let them feel like grown-ups by using the special passport control counters at DXB’s Terminals 1, 2, and 3. They can stamp their own passports and enjoy a fun experience.

If you are over 12, you can save time using the smart gates at the passport control area. All you need to do is look at the green light, and you are good to go. No need to scan any documents or wait in line.

Avoid the traffic jam with public transport or ride-hailing apps

The road leading to the airport can get congested during peak hours. To avoid getting stuck in traffic, you can use the Dubai Metro, which has DXB Terminals 1 and 3 stations. You can also use ride-hailing apps, taxis or rent a car from the airport.

If you are picking someone up from the airport, you can park at the designated car parks or use the valet services. The Arrival forecourts in Terminals 1 and 3 are only for public transport and other authorised vehicles.

The airport expects to welcome 3.3 million guests over the next 13 days, with an average daily traffic of 258,000. The busiest days will be August 26 and 27, when more than half a million guests arrive at DXB. Check your flight status, arrive early and follow the safety guidelines.

DXB is the world’s number one airport for international passenger traffic for the ninth year in a row, with 66 million passengers in 2022. The airport works closely with airlines, control authorities, and commercial and service partners to ensure a seamless journey for everyone.
