Trikut Parvat named after the three Hindu Gods- Brahma,Vishnu and Mahesh , one of the exciting tourist destination in Deoghar, Jharkhand where one can enjoy ropeway, trekking, safe natural retreat. Out of the three, two peaks are open for tourists.

HOW TO REACH

By Rail: Jasidih Junction(JSME). Frequent express and local trains halts here. It took 2hr to reach there from my place.

By Road: 125km from Asansol, WB.

It was a weekend gateway trip for me away from daily chores of life on a Sunday. I boarded morning train and reached JSME at 9:35am. I hired a Auto(Rs 250/-) to reach base point of Trikut Hill which took 20-25min from station.

One can also get shared auto via JSME-Deoghar and Deoghar-Trikut.

Note:Do not forget to save Auto driver number as there will be less transport for return.

Ropeway to Trikut Parvat

I reached Trikut Parvat base point and hired a guide(360/-) which is mandatory for first time visitors otherwise one cannot enjoy or figure out treks and points of interests at hill top. Guide asked me to but grams(chana) to feed monkeys at hilltop. One can reach hilltop via ropeway or by trekking while i opted for ropeway(130/-) which took 8min to reach top which is India's highest vertical ropeway with max incline 44deg.

One will get those mesmerising views from hilltop of lush green landscape, hills, and lots more.

Hanuman Gufa

One need to enter into gufa through giant rocks by crawling on knees. As per local beliefs, entering into gufa will take away all worries.

Helipad of Ravana's Pushpak Viman

As per local beliefs, its Ravana helipad where he landed Pushpak Viman for rest while abducting Sita to Lanka. Another interesting story about helipad- Ravana landed at top of Trikut hill to relieve himself in the middle of his voyage towards Lanka while carrying Lord Shiva in the form of Shiva Linga. Ravana wished Lord Shiva to accompany him in return of his utter devotion. Lord Shiva agreed on a condition if Ravana keeps Shiva Linga at any place for any reason during journey, lingam will established there itself for eternity and can never be uprooted.

Do not forget to bring food and water bottles with you as there are very less options at hilltop.

Returned back to base point via ropeway to reach Baba Trikuteshwar Nath Mandir and Mata Vaishnavi mandir

Tapovan

I took a shared auto(50/-) to reach Tapovan, meditation spot for yogi and saints in olden days. Place where sage Valmiki came for penance. One can reach hill top via stairs within 10min. There is a temple of Shiva called Taponath Mahadev mandir.

As per locals, Ravana came here for meditation and while he was doing penance, God instructed Hanuman to break his meditation. Hanuman jumped to the hill and burst rocks of hill. On the inner surface of the crack, you can see a portrait of Hanuman.

For return journey, I opted to trek downhill which took me 30min to reach base point following crowd. I was not aware of the trek as I was following crowd and the moment I realised that I cannot returned back but to complete downhill trek that too barefoot(as I already deposited my footwear at a shop while entering into Tapovan premises). Return journey was full of adventure passing through narrow gaps, under and above rocks.

I hired a auto(150/-) to deoghar and then took another auto from Deoghar(100/-) to reach Jasidih Junction to catch train.

Do not forget to try Deoghar famous Peda(dessert).
