Kolukkumalai- As the name indicates it is a mountain and one of the beautiful spot at munnar, kerala. This is one of the beautiful spot to watch the sunrise. It's located near to chinnakanal, the starting point. From chinnakanal to kolukkumalai it's an awesome offroad experience.
Kolukkumalai is a small village in the Theni District of Tamil Nadu. It is home to the highest tea plantations in the world with the tea grown here possessing a special flavour and freshness because of it's high altitude.
Kolukkumalai is about 7,130 feet above sea level and lies some 32 kilometres awayfrom Munnar Town.This hill top village is accessible only by jeep due to rugged and rain drenched roads covering upto 17 km. The way to the top was an awesome experience to our eyes with munnar's lush greenary and tea estates. It is about a one and a half hour journey from Munnar town. The approach road is via Suryanelli in Idukki district of Kerala.

The worlds highest organic tea gardens is situated at the top station of kolukkumalai.The top station is surrounded by mountains and clouds which is a visual treat for our eyes. Further moving on from top station we can visit the tea factory which was started at 1932 by British and still functioning.
