" With a cup of coffee in my hand and my camera dangling to the side, I walked on the foggy streets of Landour, Mussoorie. I just stroll around the town above the queen of hills and the words of the famous writer Ruskin Bond made more and more sense to me with every step. He once said about Landour - Landour is a town stuck in Time. With these thoughts in mind , continued my walk through the narrow roads with Pine trees on both sides and the beautiful golden light on the Himalayan peaks at a distance ! Walking with the taste of those amazing Pakodas and Pahado wali maggie from Chaar Dukaan, I finally reached which looked like the Land's end and a gateway to heaven. I witnessed the the dance of the passing clouds as they covered the town of Mussoorie in thick fog. I just stood there and took a sip from my coffee, witnessing one of the most beautiful display of beauty by nature."

I think the paragraph above sums up the perfect way to explore Landour, at least according to me ! Landour is a small town that can be found nestled comfortably and cosily above the town of Mussoorie. It is not your typical touristy town filled with tourist attractions and bustling markets. Its a place where you can spend a day reconnecting with yourself. And that is exactly what happened on our trip to Landour.

Me and my friends were in Dehradun attending a friend's wedding and we had a day off. So we were confused what to do , where to go. Finally we decided to go to Landour and believe me it was the best decision we took that day. Its roughly an hours drive from Doon and the roads are pretty scenic as well. We finally reached Landour admiring the cities of Dehradun and Mussoorie on our way.
So if I had to tell you about Landour, it will be a pretty short para. There is to much but there is so much !
1) Chaar Dukaan
Our first stop on the trip was Chaar Dukaan. The name of the shop or area is quite literal as there are only four i.e. Chaar shops in the area. If you want to enjoy some epic tasting food with a breath taking view, this is the spot you should definitely hit ! We filled our tummies with some of the best pakodas, maggie , momos, sandwiches, Aalo ke Paronthe and ended with a steaming cup of Ginger Lemon tea. Perfect !

A City Stuck in Time
After that perfect filling brunch, we just took our backpacks and strolled around the streets of Landour. It was built as a Cantonment Town during the British rule and was a hot favourite among the British officers. You can easily find the glimpse of the British past in the architecture and the style on which the town has been built. It almost transports you to that time. We just walked around the town admiring the beauty it had to present to us. It was one of the nicest walks of my life and mind you, I have had a lot of walks !

Landour Bakehouse
After walking for a bit (a lot !), we finally reached our last destination in Landour, the Landour Bakehouse. It is located in Sister Bazaar , a 10 min walk from Chaar Dukaan. This is a place which you should not miss if you are in Landour. It has the best bakery items I had in a long time and Oh My God the coffee was just out of the world ! It was a nice cozy spot to sit and chill with my friends , have an amazing cup of coffee and some epic bakery items with a beautiful view ! Perfect end to the day , or so I thought !

The Perfect Ending
When we were walking to our car, thinking what a perfect end to the day we had, we were greeted by two of the most beautiful sunsets of my life. First we were greeted by the mighty Himalayas , in all their sunset glory. That was the moment the photographer inside me was extremely happy ! And just when we thought it could not be any better, we ended our day witnessing the clouds dance around the town of Mussoorie and Dehradun with the most beautiful sky in the background !

And that was my trip to the Beautiful Town of Landour !
