How to reach Gangtok:

1. New Jalpaiguri railway station (Siliguri): you will get a shared cab right outside the train station (less than 50 meters). Also, rates are rs. 250 per seat.

2. Bagdogra airport (Siliguri): You can hire a taxi for Gangtok from Bagdogra airport which is roughly 126 KM for 3000 -4000 rs.

How to plan your trip:

Day 1: Arrival in Gangtok

Gangtok is 126 Km journey from Airport which takes around 5- 6 hours. The journey of Gangtok will be the best journey of your life surrounded by valleys dotted with beautiful flowers, beautiful tea garden which will mesmerize you,

Take rest for sometime post this you can do local sightseeing of Gangtok. Get yourself ready after proper sleep to explore the beauty of Gangtok next day.

Day 2: Gangtok - Changu Lake Excursion

After light breakfast, head out on an excursion to witness the gems of Sikkim.

Change or Tsomgo Lake(35 kilometers from Gangtok): Tsomgo Lake or Changu Lake is a glacial lake in the district of East Sikkim, Sikkim, India. It is situated about 38 km away from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim at an elevation of 12,400 ft. The length, width and average depth of this lake is respectively Nearly 1 km, 0.5 km and 50 ft (15 m). In Bhutia Language ‘TSO’ means Lake and ‘MGO’ means Head. In Bhutia language 'Tsomgo' means 'source of the water' or 'Source of Lake'.The lake gets filled with water from the melting snows of the mountains surrounding the lake.This glacial lake is conceived sacred by the local people. It is a famous tourist destination in North or North-East India . The stunning view of the crystal clear lake amidst the snowy summits is a sight to behold.

TSONGO PASSENGER ROPEWAY: songo passenger ropeway at a height of 14,500 ft at Tsongo lake, on the way to Nathula and Baba Mandir. It has been designed, installed and operated by Conveyor & Ropeway Services Pvt.Ltd. in association with Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim. Its scenic beauty grasps the minds of tourist by taking one round on the ropeway cable car. Ropeway Cable car operation time : 8:00 am to 3 : 00 pm Tickets are available at Tsongo Lake

Baba Mandir (18 kilometers from Gangtok): Baba Mandir is a memorial commemorated to the brave Sepoy of Indian Army who lost his life around 30 years back in this region.

Having explored the iconic attractions, you can return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Gangtok Sightseeing

Begin your day in the comfortable room and embark on a sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit the famous Rumtek Monastery, one of the largest monastery in Sikkim. Built somewhere in the 12th century, it is known for its architecture that bears a strong resemblance to the original one in Tsurphu, Tibet. Thereafter attend the famous Flower Show, an absolute treat to eyes. Next, make way to Do Drul Chorten, a dome-shaped Buddhist shrine. Built in 1945, Do Drul Chorten is known for its 108 prayer wheels and gold plated tower on the top of the Chorten. Thereafter, visit the Institute of Tibetology which features a library and museum with a rare collection of statues, coins, thangkas Tibetan artwork, etc. Head to the Cottage Industry from where you could pick handloom products like bags and some traditional dresses. See the breath-taking Bakthang Falls cascading down into a pool. Further adding to its beauty is the mesmerizing scenic vistas of the mighty Himalayas at the background. You would also visit the Gangtok Ropeway. Take a ropeway ride (own expense) and see the panoramic view of the landscape below. Having explored the famous attractions of Gangtok, head back to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 4: Gangtok to Bagdogra (125 km / 5 hours approx.)

Since today is going to be the last day of the Tour, check-out from the hotel and get transferred to Bagdogra Airport to board a flight for onward journey.
