Story on How I was bitten by a Travel bug #MyWanderlustStory

Tripoto

I was in the 2nd year of my graduation, where I was having tough times and was living with endurance. my favourite hobby used to be watching movies and one of the movies inspired me to travel to feel rejuvenated. The story of the movie is about a protagonist stuck in his love failure and getting into drugs and spoiled his health and life. His mother suggested him to travel somewhere for a change and he travelled to Kashmir, Delhi and came home rejuvenated and found it easier to avoid drugs. It was a Tamil movie “Varanam Ayiram” starring Surya. After watching the movie, I decided to travel to bring a change in my life, and Lo I travelled to Delhi, Dehradun and Mussoorie.

This was also the first time I'm travelling via flight from Hyderabad to Delhi and it was a crazy experience and by travelling via flight, half of my mood came back to normal and then I explored 3 cities. After finishing my trip to the north, I came back home feeling good and felt travelling is inspiring and decided to make a career in the travel industry and that is when the travel bug has struck me.

A few months later, to inspire myself travel far and wide, I subscribed to Lonely Planet magazine and often refer the magazine to decide my next travel destination. It also felt good that I have inherited the passion of travelling from my parents who, most of the Sundays take time to explore the outskirts of Chennai( I was in Chennai when I was a kid) like Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram.

My next trip was the place where teenagers like going with their friends i.e Goa. I travelled to Goa solo and commuted in and around Goa in public bus and stayed in Backpackers hostel. Goa is surrounded by beautiful nature and sandy beaches. Once I finished visiting Goa, my motivation to travel has increased more and more I travelled to many cities in a few years.

In 2016, it was the turning point of my life, where I became the only member in whole of my family to travel abroad, Yes you read that right, first-ever person in my family to travel abroad to Srilanka.

So far I was happy and content with travel whenever problems have struck me and all my trips were self-funded. As of now, I have travelled to 18 Indian Cities and 2 Abroad Cities. Slowly, to get paid to travel, I decided to learn foreign languages like Spanish and German to attain some source of Income to travel(slowly I'm learning Spanish and German, but I haven’t applied my learnings in the real world)

Whenever I feel demotivated and don’t feel like working or going out, I watch travel movies like ZNMD, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Queen to inspire myself to focus on my travel goals. For all those who wanted to travel, trust me it is worth your effort, time and money.

Hope I have inspired you to travel 
