If you live in Pune, then this monsoon, you can set out to wander around the wilderness - crossing multiple rivers and gorgeous waterfalls.
The Trail:
Andharban Trek is a 16km long trek starting from Kundalika Valley which is almost 60km away from Pune city. You have to start early by 7-8 am so that you can enjoy and complete the trek within 7 to 8 hrs.
This trek is full of natural bliss like rain-fed streams, lush green forests, multiple waterfalls along with diverse flora & fauna.
The word 'Andharban' in Marathi means 'dark jungle' and when we were there, the name got justified because there was very less sun light. Different sounds inside the jungle were the reason for our adrenaline rush!
The trek ends at -Bhira Dam so plan accordingly you can't park your vehicle in Kundalika valley. In case you travel by roads, it's more than 40km - so bring a driver along with you who can wait for you on the other side of the trek near Bhira Dam.
