There are a few things that money can't buy and friendship is one of them. Friendship for me is happiness and I can tell you that it has been the biggest support in my life. So let me introduce you to 2 of my best friends (Ankit and Premal) who have been with me through the thick and thin of my life.

We have been friends since 4th Grade :)

With we growing up and shouldering the responsibilities of our lives, we started to spend a lot less time together.

So last July, we were sitting at my friend’s place and we were sharing our stories with our wives on how we used to celebrate Friendship day when we were in school. We used to bunk our school and go to a nearby beach on our bicycles. At times a few girls used to join us and we used to spend the entire day just to impress them. Those were the days we will never forget.

While discussing our school time stories we all got excited to relive the same moments by doing a road trip but this time around we planned to go for a week rather than just for a day. After evaluating a few options we pinned down Rajasthan as our destination and we were all excited to visit places like Jaipur, Jaiselmer, The Thar Desert, Pushkar, and other fascinating places that we had just heard before.

So there we were with all our bags packed and we were ready to go. The roads are just excellent and I can say going to Rajasthan was the best decision.

That road trip that happened for Real!

So the first pit stop was Udaipur or should I say the Land of the Royals. We reached Udaipur and it blew our mind away. The houses in Udaipur are huge and the hospitality is unmatched. Every guest, tourist, traveler are welcomed with open arms and they are treated as a family.

One of the places that we were excited to visit was the Taj Lake Palace hotel. Situated right in the middle of Lake Pichola, the site of the hotel from the outside is magnificent. You can just imagine how beautiful it would be to stay at this hotel. Just for your information, 3 of us have made a pact that we will celebrate one of the next friendship days by staying at the hotel and hopefully, that day comes soon 😊

Waah Taj!

Up next was the city of Desert – Jaiselmer. We had always imagined visiting Jaiselmer and when we were finally there, our excitement was unexplainable. We decided to book our room right next to Jaiselmer fort so that we can see it from our window. No adjective can describe the beauty of the fort when it glows at night. Interesting fact – Jaiselmer fort is one of the few living forts where the families who used to serve the king still stay in the fort.

If you ever happen to visit Jaiselmer fort, please search for the guide named Mr. Gopa. His ancestors used to serve the king of Jaiselmer and he can tell you the real interesting stories which no one else can. We were mind-blown after meeting him as the kind of stories he told was incredible.

Jaiselmer is a different city by the day and a different city by night. You can stay in a tent right in the middle of the desert and it is a different experience altogether. At night the sky is all clear and you can see a blanket of stars right above you and the site is just mesmerizing.

A night to remember.

We were sitting outside our tents and recalling all our school memories. With every conversation, we were laughing with tears in our eyes and it felt like there wouldn’t have been such good memories if I wouldn’t have these 2 as my friends. That night, I felt so thankful for having such good friends in my life.

Below is the picture which I have framed as one of the best memories of my life.

The memory that has been etched in our hearts forever!

While researching the places in Rajasthan we came across an interesting village named Kuldhara or famously known as the Haunted Village of India. We all looked at each other and we thought it would be a different adventure to explore this village. I can tell you the feel of this village is quite Spooky but with my friends around me, I was actually enjoying it.

We were enjoying our road trip and we decided to drive through the Great Indian Desert – The Thar Desert. Driving through the desert was a different experience. We were playing our favorite songs and were singing on the highest note possible.

We were looking for dessert in this desert :)

After a while, all of us went mad and we started playing in the desert and I cannot tell you how much fun it was. Check out the below video!

The last destination of our trip was Pushkar and we were amazingly surprised by the mixed culture that Pushkar has to offer. You will find Italian, Mexican, Portuguese cafes and at the same time, you will also see the simplicity of this place. If you want to enjoy the best of the times with your friends there are so many hostels that you can stay and you can also make some new friends.

Our new Friends :)

As our trip was coming to an end we were all disappointed that we will have to go back to our normal life and live the daily routine. The time we spent together for 1 week was so beautiful and we all wished that we can extend this time for a few more weeks.

We were hoping to extend our Trip!

But as we know, all good things come to an end and so does our trip. I can tell you that the last friendship day was the most memorable friendship day I ever had.

For the last 1 year, we have been planning to do a similar trip but it just hasn’t been possible. The day we travel together again, I will surely share our stories with you.

Till then, Keep Traveling and Keep Exploring like a Tripster!
