Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone! Happy new year of the rooster. It's a long weekend here in Singapore due to Chinese New Year. We have had quite an active weekend so far- yoga, swimming, cycling, cooking experiments and visiting our fav South Indian joint for lunch!
Today, we decided to do the 10 km walking trail on the Southern Ridges. It was a beautiful and refreshing experience amidst lush greenery, great views and some architectural marvels in the southwest side of Singapore. The weather was perfect as well- cloudy, slightly windy but no rains.
How to reach there: Alight at Harbourfront MRT station and take Exit D. The starting point for both trails A and B i.e. Marang trail starts as soon as you step on the left side of exit D.
Which trail to take: There are two major trails to explore the ridges. Trail A starts from Harbourfront and goes all the way till Kent Ridge Park. Trail B has the same starting point but ends at the Labrador Nature Reserve. Most points of interest are common in both routes. We took Trail A today which covers Telok Blangah Hill, Faber walk, Henderson waves, Forest walk, Alexandra Arch and Canopy walk.
The starting point or the Marang trail is the most difficult part of the trail with 100+ steps. Other portions are easy but make sure you are well hydrated especially on a sunny day. Overall, the walk is easy to moderate (might be difficult for some in Singapore's hot and humid weather!!).

Overall, it was a great weekend activity- got some good exercise and loads of oxygen!
