The Covid-19 virus continues to create challenges around the world. But recently, India is having to fight an especially difficult battle against the virus. With the daily record consistently being broken and the death toll only mounting, the country is suffocating as the deadly virus threatens to snuff the breath of her people.

In what appears to be a challenge India seems unlikely to overcome, countries have set aside their differences and stepped forward to help its citizens in need.

The latest reports suggest that over 25 countries have already extended support while about 40 countries have assured to help her in the fight against the pandemic in numerous ways. Countries have already been sending the much needed medical aid across as India falls short of the medication and oxygen supply that her people need to overcome the infection.

While much of the support has come through government channels, India has opened up to private agencies and individuals as well who have extended aid in this time of need. Over 85 consignments are reported to have arrived in the national capital from countries:

Remdesivir

The United States of America and Canada have reportedly supplied India with the highest amount of medication needed to help patients cope with Covid-19.

Oxygen concentrators

The Hindustan Times has documented that India has received 9000 oxygen concentrators from well-wishers. The United States of America and Ireland lead with the highest number of concentrators donated. Kuwait has also supported India with donations.

Oxygen generating plants

The list of countries helping India breathe are fortunately growing:

-The United Kingdom

-Israel

-The United States of America

-Germany

-Italy and

-Ireland

Ventilators

Reportedly India has received about 6000 ventilators from countries such as UAE and Netherlands who are credited to be the highest donors.

Since April 27, India has received support from countries such as Bahrain and Qatar in addition to the ones listed above. While South Korea, Hong Kong, UAE, Egypt, UK, Kuwait, Israel, The USA, Russia, France and Netherlands continue to send Indians supplies to help her citizens cope with the pandemic. Setting aside differences, even countries like China have committed to supplying India with oxygen concentrators and other supplies. With the government stating much of the aid has already reached Indians struggling with Covid, the world continues to help through the times when we most need it.

If there ever was a time to focus on setting aside political wars and overcoming a pandemic together, it's now. And so many countries have stepped up only proving that we're all truly fighting the same enemy.
