It was a lazy Saturday morning and the itchy feet were wanting to go out and check out some place. They say travel makes you wiser and it is so true, you learn so much when you travel to a certain place, its history, the people, the culture & food off course. However being a true Mumbaikar, you will learn that Vasai traffic is one of the worst you will see during it's peak time. To make sure I used up my Saturday properly and making doubly sure that none of the chores at home are pending, i decided to give my itchy feet the much needed break ;)
So Vasai fort here i come!!!! Even though i have been to this place many times, the beauty of the fort and the way it still stands reminds me of the hardships of people who in those ancient times had built the fort. The fort area in itself is huge, its expanse is in few acres and the entire area is protected and under ASI. I was surprised to see the renovation work being conducted at good pace for the area within the fort complex. The rustic charm of fort may dither a bit due to renovation, but it is much needed to keep the fort in good condition for future generations to see
One can get a good view of sunset and the Arabian sea from the fort
For all those photographers who wish to capture couples for their wedding shoot, kindly note that with immediate affect ASI permission from (SION) is needed for any kind of photography shoot that is to be conducted at the fort. You cant as earlier just barge in with all the photography tools and start photo shoot. From what i understood there had been some damage that a recent photo shoots conducted in the premises did.
There is no charge involved, just a permission letter from SION is required. For individual photographers there is no restriction or charges for now
The entire trip was worth taking yet again and it was good to see the fort being renovated.
