Embracing Challenges:

For Parvinder, life without challenges is unimaginable. She refused to let her physical limitations define her, making her debut as a solo traveller at the age of 38. Her story resonates as a testament to the power of determination and the human capacity to overcome adversity.

From Being Bedridden to Becoming a World Traveller:

Parvinder's journey was not without its share of struggles. In the midst of her illness, she was bedridden for an extended period. She vividly recalls the hardships she faced during this period when even simple tasks like turning in bed became excruciatingly painful. However, she refused to succumb to despair. Even when she started walking again, she faced the fear of pain and the misconceptions others had about her condition.

But Parvinder's spirit remained unbroken. She acquired a manual wheelchair, regained her confidence, and even secured a job at a BPO in Mumbai.

Her life changed when her cousin, actress Bhumika Chawla, and her fiancé gifted her an automatic wheelchair. Parvinder's mobility expanded, and she ventured out to explore the world beyond her comfort zone.

From Local Adventures to Global Exploration:

Parvinder's life took a pivotal turn when she accompanied friends on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi. To everyone's surprise, she navigated the crowds and received special blessings from the temple priest. It was a moment of inspiration that fueled her desire to explore the world even more.

Parvinder's adventure in Dubai with Bhumika unveiled a world of possibilities for wheelchair-bound travellers. Her newfound freedom inspired her to venture solo to Bali, Indonesia, where she stayed in budget accommodations without room service. This trip marked the beginning of her remarkable journey as a solo traveller.

Challenges Along the Way:

Solo travelling wasn't without its challenges. In China, Parvinder struggled to find a metro platform but encountered a compassionate stranger who helped her. However, her most memorable challenge was ziplining, an activity that initially terrified her. Overcoming her fear became a symbol of her indomitable spirit.

Even her wheelchair's battery issues and occasional equipment failures couldn't deter Parvinder. Even the COVID-19 pandemic could not deter Parvinder's wanderlust. She took to the Indian roads in her automatic car, exploring the gems of her own country, from Jaipur to Agra. Her videos capturing these adventures brought her immense joy and a sense of being alive.

Advocating for Accessibility:

While Parvinder's adventures have been awe-inspiring, they also shed light on the need for improved accessibility worldwide. She highlights the importance of not just wheelchair ramps but also creating inclusive environments for the elderly and those with injuries. Parvinder calls for more involvement of differently-abled individuals in policy-making and financial support for accessible travel.

Parvinder's ultimate goal is to fill her passport with as many stamps as possible. Her journeys have taken her paragliding in Taiwan, kayaking in Udupi, snorkelling in Australia's Great Barrier Reef, and backpacking across Europe. Through her blog and social media, she hopes to inspire more differently-abled individuals to pursue their travel dreams.

As Parvinder Chawla exclaims with an infectious smile, "The world is so big, and I have barely scratched the surface. Fifty-nine countries are nothing." Her story reminds us that the only limits in life are the ones we place on ourselves and that the spirit of adventure knows no bounds, not even a wheelchair.

Her infectious enthusiasm, determination, and unstoppable spirit remind us that challenges are not obstacles but stepping stones to a richer, more fulfilling life.
