A lot of places can be covered in a decent budget of 5k. Depends on which part of India you are residing it - you can visit the places nearby or at an overnight distance. Try travelling by bus or a sleeper train to reach to your destination. For accomodation you can look out for homestays/hostels. If keen carry along some food as well along with you so that you don't spend much on food related expenses. For example - Bangalore to Hampi can be covered under 5000/person if you go by train , stay in hostels and explore the city on foot or mopeds. Alternatively - whichever part of India you are in , you can refer to sites like https://www.plantheunplanned.com/ or something similar . They offer pre-defined packages on a per-person basis on a very reasonable cost . Also its fun to sometimes explore these options and meet new people/friends :) Hope this was helpful .

For me, it is McLeod Ganj or Tirthan Valley. Nope, it's not Mussoorie, Nainital or Shimla. These places have been messed up by the commercialization and I simply hate that but can't do anything about it other than not throwing waste on the mountains and bringing it back to the plains to dump it. Now why McLeod? Because this place has pleasant weather even in summers. There is the right amount of commercialization there because of the Tibetans and peace-loving people there. You can also find various activities like trekking, paragliding and visit Kangra fort. Happy Travelling!!

You can pretty much manage everything in Rs.1000 a day in Spiti. As Dec will be off-season prices for hotels will be lowest so you can get a good deal. I would not suggest you travel directly to Kaza from Shimla. You can spend a day in between at Kalpa. As Rohtang pass is closed due to heavy snowfall so you have to take Shimla to Kaza via Tabo. Happy Travelling!!

Hey Pradipan, Best and most scenic route to reach Spiti Valley is via Manali. You can also do a round trip: Manali->Spiti Valley->Shimla. Best time to visit Spiti is from June -September as road via Manali remains closed in the rest of the months but you can visit via Shimla in winters. Hope this would help you. Happy travelling!!!

On the top, No during winter season you have to take our own tent and pitch it for the night as long as you get a permit from Shamshi Forest Department located just 2km From Bhuntar. Another option is to do a day hike to Kheerganga and stay in the village just below called Kalga. Kalga is a beautiful small village with a few lovely guesthouses. We stayed one night in Kalga before our trek at a guest house called Gypsy House, it was Rs250 including food. Happy Travelling!!

Tripo helps people to wander about the places we can go, so it is not duplicate as it gives information about the place and attracts people to visit the place.

Hey Rajni, The best and the most taken trip for 3 days from Bangalore is to Coorg : Coorg is a bust destination when it comes to tourism in Karnataka as it's nearer to Bangalore... it's always better to plan ahead to visit this place.... For stay options :- I would suggest you to stay in Madikeri center only as it's accessible and also you have got lot of options of stay here ... Hotel Madikeri heritage :- Near private bus stand - http://www.madikeriheritage.com 08272228989 Oyo City Comforts inn :- Near Vivus hospital https://www.oyorooms.com/14016?utm_source=Google_gmb&utm_medium=Organic&utm_campaign=COG113 07065009189 The fort mercara hotel :- Near police Station http://www.thefortmercara.com 09972333055 I have personally stayed in oyo City Comforts inn and its a very nice hotel with medium range of cost ... family tourists usually opt this hotel a lot ... Coming to Places to see in Coorg ... Day 1 :- Mercara fort Abbey water falls Omkareshwar temple Bhagamandala Tala kaveri Raja's seat for Sunset Day 2 :- Namdroling or golden Monastery Cauvery Nisargadhama Dubare Elephant camp River Rafting in Cauvery river Day 3 :- Iruppu falls Nagarhole national park Mode of transportation :- Car :- Hiring a car for 2k per day basis is the best mode if you are around 4 people ... As it's a hilly region it's better to sit back and enjoy roads ... Bike :- Royal brothers give bikes on rent from Dio to Yamaha Fz ... If you are two this is best as you can get bike for 1k per day and rest is all as your plan as you can come back to hotel room.and rest as per your convenience... Bus:- Private buses and state buses ply to Cauvery Nisargadhama, golden temple in kushalnagar, Bhagamandala and sirimangala (bus stop nearer to Iruppu) ... From all bus stands you get a auto to reach the destination ... So Coorg is a must visit destination in ones life ... Here is the link of my trip to Coorg :- https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tripoto.com/trip/a-3-day-ride-in-the-land-of-kodavas-coorg-5a794ef5b0233.amp Happy Travelling!!!

A big Yes!! Hitchhiking is an option if you are a willing hitchhiker with excitement. I have such experience s that's why I am expressing it to the world. I did my first hitchhiking trip in January of last year. I went out without any plan and with almost no money in pocket (though I had my card just for an emergency) but I had a bombastic excitement within. I still remember how insanely I was standing in the mid of highway at my hometown to stop the truck-drivers. Many truck drivers laughed and many ignored, but finally one had stopped his truck to let me in who was going to Delhi. I was never excited like this, when I put my rucksack in truck and was about to get in. And this is how it started as I completed 500 km(entire day)from Palanpur to Jaipur in the truck, with a stranger. Most important tip- Choose wisely whom you asking for help Good Luck!! Happy Travelling!!

Hi, Yes the trek is open. Have a great time.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
I did this trek on 24 December 2017. We were a group of 14 people. We started at around 3 in the afternoon. During this period of time, 30% of the route is covered with hard slippery ice. If u don't have trekking shoes than that would be very difficult and sometimes scary and I mean what I say. So Trekking gear plays an important role here. Bon Voyage!!
