The cheapest way to travel to Hampi from Pune is by taking a train from Pune to Londa and then a train from Londa to Hospet. From Hospet, Hampi is just 15 km and you can hire an auto rickshaw for the same. Happy Travelling!!

It's completely safe and easy if you are a willing hitchhiker with excitement. I have such experience s that's why I am expressing it to the world. I did my first hitchhiking trip in January last year. I went out without any plan and with almost no money in pocket(though I had my card for emergency) but I had a bombastic excitement within. I still remember how insanely I was standing in the mid of the highway at my hometown to stop the truck-drivers. Many truck drivers laughed and many ignored, but finally one had stopped his truck to let me in who was going to Delhi. I was never excited like this when I put my rucksack in the truck and was about to get in. And this is how it started as I completed 500 km(entire day)from Palanpur to Jaipur in the truck, with a stranger. So don't think much, just leave! Everything else will be seen. Good Luck!!

Yes it is safe. While hitchhiking, you will find how good the people are

Go and check out oyo rooms as they are offering 74c/o off in hotels these days. And Actually, the main reason I'm recommending booking through oyo becoz MMT and goibibo bookings are not that much trustworthy, they can cancel your room if they get more money from another person. So choose wisely especially when you are traveling during the winter holidays. Happy Travelling!!

I would suggest to visit chamba instead of shimla as on 25th weekend there will be a lot of rush. In chamba you can find cheap hotels and peaceful atmosphere.

Yes there. are some. check on red bus, you'll get different options.

Go to sub urban bus stand. Take a bus for Ooty. Ask the station master or bus driver. Thats it. I would suggest you to go early in the morning cause they have safari till 9 am, I am not quite sure about it. Other time is from 3 pm to 5 pm. You can try that but if you are a trainee, then you have to hurry, you know what I mean.

Choose the Hampi Bazaar area as this area is comparatively cheap than another side of the river, for solo travelers this area is perfectly suited & the rent goes from Rs 200 up to Rs 1000. You may find homestay for less price if you can bargain. Rent of hotels increases in winter & falls in summer and rainy seasons. But if you choose to stay on the other side of the river, it will cost you around Rs 500 or above. And this place is best suited for family or solo girls travellers.

You can check the trip with Deyor Camps, although I haven't been to spiti, but it's on my list and a senior has done the same trip twice with deyor camps and feedback was nice. They will charge you 23-24k and even less if you negotiate with them, including the trip Chandigarh to Delhi, Royal Enfield included. Check their website for more and detailed information. The perfect time for that road trip will be after April. Hope you find the answer satisfactory. Happy Travelling.

Hampta Pass trek starts from Manali valley, takes you through lush green mountains, water streams, rocky climbing paths and lands you in Spiti valley at the end. I did Hampta Pass Trek in 1st week of August 2012. 5 days are sufficient for the trek. We were 5 college friends in the group. Maximum expenditure at that time was around 6–7 k per member for total trip. We took trekking items on rent from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in Delhi which is a government firm. Best Time- August- October April-June
