Day 1

It was a cloudy morning and I was awake sitting in my room looking out of the window. My bags were packed and I would be getting back on the road again to my next destination. But something was missing in me I was not ready to leave yet and I had another 4 hours left before my check out time and the answer to that missing part was the town of Danushkodi.

I was only 20 KMS from the place and before I left I did some google search and found out a few things about Dhanushkodi.

It used to be a fishing paradise and a point of trade with people living there half a century ago. But nature played its role by sending a huge tsunami which hit the town and completely destroyed it. The ruins of the place are the only reminder of the memories of the families who once lived there.

Another interesting thing about Dhanushkodi is that when searched on google maps and zoomed in we can see a bridge which leads towards the country of Sri lanka. So it is the proof that there once existed a bridge which was used for trade between the state of Tamil Nadu and Sri lanka.

The ride in dhanuskodi was the best road to drive in Tamil Nadu with sea water on both sides for which reason it is also called as the rann of Dhanushkodi.
