Gopalpur Tourism and Travel Guide

Gopalpur is a little town in the Ganjam district of Odisha. Earlier a major commercial port, Gopalpur today, is a lovely tourist attraction. The beach, barely 16 kilometres from Berhampore, is known for its long stretches of cashew nut trees and is clean and calm. A landmark at the beach is its lighthouse, from where one can see the entire hamlet of Gopalpur at a glance. A major tourist attraction here is the Old Jetty, which provides a host of options in water sports. Gopalpur, perhaps is the only sparsely crowded beach that gives adventure enthusiasts ample opportunity to enjoy everything from to windsurfing, rowing, scuba diving and paddle boating. Gopalpur is also widely known for its beach festival that was started in the year 1996 to promote tourism and Odia culture. The festival is a five-day long affair, held every year in December and is a must visit!
