If you have always wondered how living in a jail feels like, now is your time to experience that!
"Jail tourism" is all set to start in full swing in Uttarakhand's Haldwani prison. A part of the old prison is being reconstructed to accommodate tourists, who can not only visit but also spend the night there to get the real 'jail-like feeling'.
According to sources, it's mainly for people who have been advised by their astrologers to spend time behind the bars to beat off "bandhan yog" or bad karma in their horoscopes. The Haldwani Jail officials have come up with an innovative idea to help people embrace their astrological beliefs and and get rid of karmic turmoil!
An abandoned part of this century old jail which had the old armoury with six staff quarters, is being prepared for this unique jail tourism.
"We have an abandoned portion inside the prison that can be developed as a dummy jail to accommodate such ‘inmates’ for a night for a nominal fee of Rs 500", said the jail official.
You might find this fascinating or peculiar but this is definitely going to be one of the most unique experiences in the country . So, would you like to spend a night behind the bars?
