Harsil is a secret destination in the lap of the Uttarakhand corridor of the Himalayas. Being only 25km from Gangotri, it is the gateway to the famous pilgrimage site. The Mukhwas village, at a distance of 1km from Harsil, is considered to have been the abode of Goddess Gangotri. You can also visit the neighbouring village of Dharali for its pretty, colourful surroundings and beautiful apple orchards. A 7km trek from Harsil to Sattal will acquaint you with the enchanting cluster of seven lakes, which look picture perfect against the green backdrop.
