Bachhretu Fort | Bilaspur (HP)

The historic fort of Bachhretu was built in the 14th century during the reign of Raja Ratan Chand, the monarch of Bilaspur. It was once a majestic structure, but it is now in ruins and has enormous historical significance in the country. One might picture how large the construction would have been during the reign of the King of Bilaspur based on what remains of the fort. Some of the fort’s walls are around the same height as erected, a distinguishing feature. Since then, the property has been under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India & is open to the public.

At an elevation of 3000 feet above sea level, the remnants of Bachhretu Fort may be found. When exploring the fort from the interior, most of the rooms are immediately identifiable from the ruins. The fort offers the most incredible views of the surrounding hills and the tranquil Gobind Sagar Lake. Photographers must have their cameras with them to capture some stunning images.
