Our Itinerary for the trip was to Travel from Bombay-Dharamshala-Macleod ganj-Dalhousie-Dharamshala-Bombay. We went there in Feb 2020.
We took a flight from Bombay to Delhi and in the evening we took government ac Volvo bus from Delhi to Dharamshala, it was a overnight Journey and we reached by 7 o'clock in the morning at Dharamshala. The condition of Bus was pretty good and I would recommend to take Govt. bus then private. Then we took cab from Dharamshala to McLeod Ganj and we checked into our hotel.
Our plan was to roam around in Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj and cover Dalai Lama Temple Tibet monastery and other around the points in McLeod Ganj
The first thing we did in the morning is hire a bike on Rent as its convenient and you can enjoy heel view by stopping where ever you want.
In the morning we went to Namgyal Monastry and on the way stopped to one of the hill side café for breakfast and tea( Cafe had a great view from there do check below pics). There are various Lakes and waterfall which can be covered in short time, we ended our day by visiting one those waterfalls and watching sunset on one of the hills.
Day-3
On Next day we decided to Go to Dalhousie on bike from Macleod Ganj and we have booked our hotel there.
There is awesome market in Dalhousie where you can buy winter shawl and other himachal special products. Also there are various fast food counters which serves good food and hot beverages on the go.
We also visited St. John's Church and one museum there. In the night we had dinner at famous Sher -e- Punjab dhaba. You will find multiple dhaba with this name but the last one in the line is the oldest and original so do check that.
Day-4
On the next day we were planning to go to Khajjiar for Paragliding as its famous for that. But due to cold weather and because of snow from last 2 days we couldn't go by Bike so we hired one cab, by that we went there.. You can get cab easily there as they stand in central square.
Cab driver was really great guy, he used to take us to places where there were less crowed and we can get good view.
One good thing about these people is they are of really helping nature, as its very common to get stuck in snow and unable to move ahead. So we also found multiple occurrences where people got stuck so all there drivers from behind will go to that car and help them by pushing to go ahead(In metros it would have been chaos by that time).
So we came back by night time and Had dinner in hotel only and went to sleep as we had to catch our bus tomorrow from MacLeod Ganj.
Next day we had bus in the evening. So we did some shopping in MacLeod Ganj for our family and were back to Mumbai by next day afternoon.
It was great experience to explore such wonderful scenery along with warm hearted peoples who would love to interact with you and tell you their stories and culture if you are interested and be friendly with them.
