Well, Spiti Valley, when the name appears the first thing that comes to our mind is tight and treacherous roads carved out of edges on the rocky cliffs through Kinnaur and Spiti Valley surrounded by huge mountains. I had heard about this before and when I watched a few videos on YouTube I became sure of the adventure that was waiting for me there because I am not a biker I travel by Bicycle. It took me three days from Shimla to embark on the “most treacherous road in the world” and the next six days till Rohtang were the most amazing and difficult of my traveling experience so far. Spiti valley is as amazing a landscape as you can find on earth, riding through those tiny villages with population below 200 was an altogether different experience, all of them felt like an oasis in a mountainous desert. No connectivity, and no one to accompany and when you ride a bicycle all the day talking to yourself or the bicycle or the mountains you slowly turn into a different person who understands the world around in abut different but better way. I went through hunger and exhaustion on one particular day, the next I saw a landslide created by a cloudburst after Batal, and the final day treated me with rain and hailstorm while climbing the Rohtang pass. On the way I met some amazing people when we all were stuck in a dhaba in Chhatru due to the landslide. Overall it was one of those experiences that stay with you for a long time.
