As per the latest reports, the airlines has started operating flights to India from 29th November and the discount is being offered for travel between 23rd November to 30th November.

Statement from the GM of the Airlines

Mr Sy Yen Chen, the General Manager of the Singapore Airlines (India) stated that, "This is a momentous occasion for us as we will be resuming passenger flights to India after a 20-month long hiatus. With the resumption of flights from India, including daily VTL flights from Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, eligible Singapore Airlines customers can finally enjoy seamless quarantine-free travel and reunite with their friends and family in Singapore".

He also mentioned that, "We are grateful to the governments of both Singapore and India, for launching the Air Travel Bubble and Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL). The celebration offer is a gesture of thanks to our customers in India who have waited so long for Singapore Airlines to resume flights, and we look forward to welcoming our passengers back on board soon".

A Welcome news for the Indian travellers

Indian travellers can avail the flights from various cities of India, a long awaited wish that was being stalled for long. Singapore Airlines will operate VTL flights dailt from the cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. This will enable zero quarantine requirements and free entry to Singapore. Additionally, non-VTL flights will operate from the cities of Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Ahmedabad. The passengers travelling from these cities need to abide by the COVID-19 Category II control measures stated by the Singapore government, which includes seven days of quarantine in the country.

The 50 % discount is being offered in both VTL and non-VTL flights. The flight fares start from INR 13,000 which includes all kinds of charges. Furthermore, the low cost subsidiary of the airlines, Scoot, will operate non-VTL flight services from Hyderabad, Amritsar and Tiruchirappalli.

What are the COVID-19 guidelines under the VTL scheme?

1. Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and must carry the digital copy of the COVID vaccination certificates as approved and recognised by the Singapore government

2. Two COVID-19 negative tests need to be produced - one within 48 hours of departure and another on arrival in Singapore

3. For VTL travel eligibility, Indian travellers need to spend 14 consecutive days in India

4. Need to apply for Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) between seven and 60 days of the date of entry into Singapore. Only short term visitors and long term pass holders from India are eligible for applying VTP

5. Kids with age ranged 2 years and below, need not undergo any COVID-19 tests
