RevPar Unveiled: The Magic Metric

Before we dive deeper into Kumarakom's triumph, let's understand what exactly is RevPar? RevPar, or revenue per available room, is the holy grail of hotel metrics. It's a simple equation - the total room revenue divided by the number of available rooms during a specific period. The higher the RevPar, the happier the hotel!

The survey, ‘Indian Hospitality Trends and Opportunities’, conducted by hospitality consulting firm Hotelivate, provides insights into the performance of the hotel industry based on star categories, administrative zones, and 20 major hotel markets, involving 1,540 hotels representing a combined inventory of 1,65,172 rooms.
