If you think of visiting beaches, there is no better place to go other than Andaman in India. Clean and transparent water body around the island is the highlight of Andaman. Also it is the best place for water activities in India among the places I have visited.

The total cost for the trip was around 45000 per person (Including flight). It will cost you less if you do not drink as drinks were costly there and we did not hold back 😋

My Itinerary of the Trip was :

Day 1

Bangalore -> Port Blair: as it is the only airport available.Reached in the evening and visited the Cellular Jail light show. Then went for to Sinclairs Bayview for some drinks.

Day 2

Port Blair -> Havelock in Cruise: We did a mistake of booking a late cruise which costed the day as the sunlight goes by 4:30 to 5. We took an Activa for rent there to travel around. Scooters cost around 300 - 400 per day depending upon the demand.

After checking in the hotel, we headed to kala pathar beach. Kala pathar beach is a bit more less crowded place as you do not have much attraction or activities there.

Day 3

The day started with going for scuba diving as early as 07:30 AM and it took around 3 hours to complete the activity. When you do scuba diving, you understand why Andaman is considered the best scuba diving spot in India. You feel like you are in a big aquarium with lots of corals, fish and clean & clear sea water.

In the evening, we headed to the Radhanagar beach. It is awarded as the best beach in Asia and it is worth the accolade. Clean and beautiful beach with lush greenery across the shore makes it more attractive. You can go there in the evening to view the sunset.

Day 4

As planned we headed towards the elephant beach. There are 2 ways to reach there, by boat or through trekking. We chose the trekking as we wanted to see the Andaman forest as well. The way to the beach is beautiful with huge trees and couple of streams. We took a guide and it is very useful to take 1 as they guide you throughout the trek. Guides cost you around 500 for 4 hours.

The forest is then followed by a mangrove forest which then takes us to the beach. The first sight of the beach after the trek itself is mesmerizing with 3 different colors of water. The water near the beach being whitish because of the white sand, followed by light blue water and then dark blue as it goes further.

This beach is where other activities happen. We tried para sailing and jet ski. The costs are relatively higher than other places in India, hence you can choose only if you want it as there isn't anything special about doing it here in particular.

Day 5

Havelock -> Neils in Cruise : We corrected the mistake we did last time and booked an early cruise. We reached the island around 10:00 AM and rented a scooter there as well at the same cost.

We then checked in the hotel and went to visit the natural coral bridge around 2. The place has a lot of beautiful corals and fish which can be viewed from the beach itself.

Late in the evening around 4:00 PM we visited the bharathpur beach. It was a pretty normal beach but was very shallow one. You can go up to 200m into the sea and the water will still be till your hips at max. Then we headed back to the hotel and went to SeaShell pub again for some drinks (Mainly for WiFi 😂)

After the visit we went to the lakshmanpur beach to have a calm and quiet sunset. Sunset heppens around 4:45 - 5 there. You will find a lot of food stalls there. You must try the fruit bowl there as it is made of fresh fruits from the island. We were in the beach till 07:00 PM and the went back to the hotel to freshen up and headed to SeaShell pub for our next drinking session to end the day. That is one of the very few places where you get free WiFi as well in the island.

Day 6

It was a lazy day as we were a bit tired. We woke up around 10:00 AM and had breakfast from the hotel we were staying and chilled in the private beach of the hotel. They had a few chairs, swings and Hammocks to just laze around.

Day 7

We took a scooter this time once we landed and headed to the hotel. That evening we visted the Chidiya Thapu beach which has a view point from the hill top. Other than that, its a very normal beach.

After the beach visit, we went to the Marina Park which is along the beach. Its open till 09:00 PM and the sea breeze is really soothing and calming.

Day 8

Last day of our trip, we went to visit the cellular jail. You can visit the cells and the garden there. You can also go on top of the jail to get a very beautiful view of the Port Blair sea.

After the cellular jail visit, we headed to the Anthropology Museum which explains the evolution of human beings and in particularly the tribes of Andaman and Nicobar islands. They also have a lot of artifacts which were used by the tribes. After these visits we went for a late lunch to a cafe called Brewberrys Cafe. They had good continental food and a lot of juices and shakes 💓. In the evening, we visited the corbin cove's beach. It is one of the crowded beach as it is very near the city. They have a long wall like the marine drive where you can sit and enjoy the breeze.

Day 9

Port Blair-> Bangalore: Back to Reality.

PS:

You wont get proper network across Andaman unless you have Airtel, BSNL. Be prepared.

Carry enough cash as it is tough to find ATMs except in Port Blair.

Try booking ferries online since offline prices are higher as they take advantage of the fact that you don't get Internet there.

The climate is always hot and humid. We went in December and even then we were sweating most of the time.
