Well the fact is Lord Shiva motivates me to travel, Yes he surely does !!!!
It all started when Mr. Abhishek Chakraborty, Mr. Sunil Kuswah (mentor and professor of B.I.T, Durg) and Mr. Nikhil Agrwal wished to visit Ujjain Jyotirling(Mahakal), one of the 12 holy shrines of lord Shiva.Well they all belong to Chhattisgarh state of India, so I became the travel buddy for them.
We started early morning from Bhopal to our destination Mahakal Temple Ujjain. It is rightly said that it is "The journey that teaches about your destination".
While travelling I asked my travel mates what is Shiva for them.
Abhishek Ji told , "Shiva is the supreme power, for him it is a source of power", whereas for Sunil Ji Shiva is a source of energy.
But I had my own logic for Lord Shiva, but obvious Mr. Blogger, said Abhishek Ji with a teasing laugh.
I said, Lord Shiva inspire me to travel. Yes he is a source of inspiration for me to travel, in fact Lord Shiva is supreme travel blogger.
Talking about the geography of Jyotirlinga, there are 12 holy shrines located in different parts of India. Each of the holy shrines has special significance and should be visited once in life. So herein you get a chance to visit different location of India, learn about the culture, tradition, food and surrounding places located near Jyotirlinga.
In fact lets talk about all the Gods, the shrines of all god gives you a chance to travel places all across the world.

The Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingam of Lord Shiva. The chief god of the temple - Lord Shiva - is assumed to be in the form of Swayambhu, stemming streams of power or Shakti from within. Lord Shiva also known as the god of destruction. It is mentioned in many Hindu epics that, Lord Shiva had killed a demon here named 'Tripur'. In every 12 years, the biggest Religious fair of Hindus, 'The Kumba' being held here. Millions of devotees come here to be a part of this holistic ceremony & consider themselves, very fortunate after having bath in Shipra River & a divine darshan of Lord Mahakaleshwar Shiva-Lingam.
Lord Shiva, is considered to be the most powerful & destructive god among all Hindu deities, he is the one who believed to be born of itself, simultaneously he is also very courteous & melted heart god, who never need any special worship, rituals or dedication from his devotees, an utterance of Mantra 'Om' or couple of tri-leafs of Bael (Aegle marmelos) or if nothing then to only recall him from a pure heart can be enough to conquer his heart.
The Temple:
The sprawling temple is situated on the side of the Rudra Sagara Lake; this is a three storied temple, where is Mahakaleshwar Lingam installed at the beneath part, while Nagachandresvara installed at the uppermost part of the temple. One can only see Nagachandresvara at the festival time of Nag Panchmi. In the inner and outer walls there are various sculptures have been carved during the Parmar period. At the east side of the temple where is a large veranda, adjoining the way which lead to the 'Garbhgraha' (Sanctum). At the northern side there is Images of Lord Rama, Goddess Avantika. at the southern side of the temple, where is many small temples, built during the rein of Shinde. A lofty Kunda named Koti Tirtha is built in the sarvatobhadra style, which is situated in the temple complex.The massive spire of the temple is soaring into the sky; the architecture of the outer side of the temple is so fascinating, which depicts north-Indian style.

The major attractions of Mahakaleshwar Mandir is the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga bhasma aarti, which happens daily at 4 am. The divine ceremony includes worshipping the idol with holy ash brought from the ghats and applied with sacred chants.
The temple architecture - a seamless blend of Bhumija, Maratha, & Chalukya styles - is another important key attraction of the temple. The idol of Omkareshwar Mahadev, the images of Ganesh, Parvati, Lord Rama, Avantika, & Karttikeya, and the sikhara are also worth seeing.

By air: Raja Bhoj Airport (BHO) at Bhopal, 172 km away from Ujjain, is the nearest airport. It is connected with cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
By train: The city has its own rail head. One can get direct trains from prominent cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and the capital city of Indian state Madhya Pradesh
