The pawna lake area is located slightly outside the central Lonavala region and can be reached by using a car or hiring a cab. One important point to note is some people around the lake region would try taking money from you by giving a receipt stating the road you would be walking is a private road. Do not put in your money and ask them for the public road.
Coming to the lake area itself, it is splendid. The views from the place we were standing were breathtaking, and we could see the entire expanse of the lake as well as the periphery of the Dam. The Dam also has an interior road to reach the dam wall but is now out of reach of ordinary tourists being closed due to safety precautions.
The lake water, even during the monsoon, was cool and calm. The clouds had descended over the lake, and you could see the mist-covered peaks at a distance. There are also quite a few camping sites around the lake; thus, if you are looking to camp, you can contact one. In terms of snacks, there are one or two restaurants that serve some basic food.
But the most important is the area around the lake is fantastic. This is a must-visit place if you are looking for a place that shows you nature at its best.
