I rolled into Old Manali on a thursday afternoon and made way to "Sheesh-Beesh" to have a coffee and take a breather after a one and half hour ride from katagla, kullu.
Nestled away in the foot hills of Dhauladhar range, this hostel is a nice and cosy space in the mountains. The place is run by Abdullah Safa, probably the most humble human on this planet ever. this man is so polite you'll just want to stick around all the time.
I did get some chaang on my way, so it was Abdullah, his guitar and more chaang for me.
The rooms very on a twin sharing basis : 250-300 for a night
this also depends on the season, be sure to check before hand.
There is a well equipped kitchen with my dear friend Jagriti Lamba making these amazing lazeez pakwaans oh and her "HAZELNUT GREEN TEA" is to die for.
I like simple so it was platter of amazing "ghar ki banni sabzi and roti" for me. And then you have those endless coffee refils. oh man oh man.
We sang away into the night, as the storm kept building outside.
it was good to see Tenzin brother still serving you hot delish beverages. the coffee was good, the weather was amazing, almost about to rain.
In case you happen to read this and are in Old Manali, do visit People art cafe for the best F&*#ing honey cake.
So that's 2 cafes with a spend of under Rupees 500 total. cause my friend had made some amazing food and i needed to save some space :) .
So, as you make your way up to manu temple, there are whole bunch of hostels and homestays you might have not heard of, one such is "Rockway -The Backpackers' Hub"
