I had been looking forward for this trip with my buddies. It was a halt before we headed for the wedding in Indore. My friend's dad got shifted to the army quarter in Bhopal. This saved alot of bucks I must say. The unusual rainfall in North India added to the chilling cold in Bhopal. The cold could not kill the spirit of the trip. The first evening in Bhopal, we headed for the boat club in Upper Lake. It was the best boating experience I ever had & with your favorite people it just a cherry on the cake. The next morning we headed for Bhimbetka rock shelters on a hired car. The journey through the fields of mustard... shiny yellow flowers and foggy weather was a visual treat. In less than an hour, we reached the destination... quiet, secluded from the hustle bustle of the city. The rock paintings and ancient rocks were amazing. After this, we headed towards the Bhojpur temple. The weather favored the trip ahead to Sanchi. A glimpse of the main stupa from the roadway... The World Heritage Site made me utter... "History is Beautiful, rather than boring".
Bhopal is well equipped with everything... Even the election road rally didn't make us quit the trip. The small fair near new market, the exhibition at Gauhar Mahal, museums depicting the cultures of India, awesome food and the ancient glimpses of few monuments gave innumerable memories to bid good bye.
Beautiful museum filled with India's cultural heritage and village lifestyles.
The replica of London Bridge, other than that... there's nothing much for grown ups to do there.
