              "Bura na mano Holi Hai"

Holi in Barsana, Vrindavan and Mathura is visited by numbers of people from all over the world. After all it is an Ultimate celebration. To experience the best of Holi,I recommend you to arrive a few days before the actual Holi and stay beyond the date.It comes in March every year.

1.Laddoo Holi,Barsana

Barsana is the village of Radha Rani. Holi is mainly the festival of colors, but the peoples of Brij celebrate Holi with Laddoo also. These Laddoo are the rounded sweet made with Deshi Ghee. This Laddoo Holi plays in the Radha Rani Temple that is on the top of Brahmagiri Hills.

These Bundi Laddoos of bright yellow color are thrown at each other in the temple. The entire place is full of peoples that they enjoy this celebration. After all the yellow color is the favorite of Shri Krishna.

2.Lathmar Holi,Barsana and Nandgaon

On this day Men from Nandgaon visiting Barsana in traditional yellow Kurta and Dhoti and carry a shield with them for protection.while the Ladies from Barsana looking splendid in bright-colored Ghagra and Blouse. Then they would pay their tribute at Radha Rani Temple and then gather in the street.
Now the Ladies would come out and beat the men with sticks on their Sheilds. There is a lot of hooting by the peoples to encourage them.

For Photographers, this day can be a winner with so many colors and emotions everywhere. The best suggestion I would like to give you them is to protect your camera from color because there is a lot of color in surrounding and the peoples of that village target your camera with there pichkaris that is filled with color water. The best place to photograph is the top balcony of the temple. Reach there as early as possible. The entire place gets crowded very soon. Be patient and take the time to find the best moment.
