Twenty-two kms from Shimla is this picturesque chalet (wooden cottage) which will give you vacay goals. The Chalet is tucked in not so common golf capital of Himachal Pradesh, Naldehra. A beautiful hill-station standing in the vicinity of Shimla with a much-less number of tourists. With just an 8hr drive from Delhi, this could be your ideal weekend getaway. You will be awestruck the moment you reach this gorgeous and elegant chalet.
The Interiors
The majority of the property spread across thousands of sq. yards is made from specialized wood imported from Finland which gives the chalet a very premium yet chic feel. They have a plethora of stay options to choose from. A premium log chalet with attic, duplex, studio apartment, family chalet, deluxe room and 3-4 bedroom bungalows. All these options cater to a wide segment and they've something for everyone.
The Attic @Log chalet
A curved polished wooden staircase leads to a beautiful attic which has jaw-dropping views, something that everyone will adore irrespective of their age. You can just sit on the couch or mattress which are placed in the attic area and relish the beauty of Himalayas through the large glass window panes.
Revolving Restaurant
If you've been a Delhiite for long, you must have heard about Parikrama - the legendary revolving restaurant. You can live the Parikrama experience with their in-house revolving restaurant. YES! they have their own revolving restaurant situated at the top of the property which gives 360 views of the mighty Himalayas.
Food
Above everything else, it's only the food which can help in keeping you stick to a place. Luckily, they got you covered with your fancy appetite needs too. A wide array of cuisines to choose from, The Chalet's chef prepares them really good. Their North-Indian and Italian is a must-try.
The breakfast menu is limited to a handful of dishes but everything is cooked to perfection, especially the pancakes. The quantity is not justified for a few items, so make sure to ask the waiter about the quantity of whatever you are ordering.
BBQ Evenings
The Chalet also organizes BBQ evenings every second day during winters in the lawn area. You can have your favorite snacks barbequed live.
Activities:
Movie evenings
Imagine having a private cinema in the Himalayan woods. They have it, a big conference room/movie theatre with seating of fewer than 100 people. You can enjoy their movie evenings which they organise almost every evening around 5:30pm.
Games Room
You can enjoy the pool, table tennis, chess, Jenga, among other games in the activity room. The room has glass panes to give you the best view of the mountain peaks while playing your favorite games.
Swimming Pool
A large solar heated pool with an attached bar. You read that right. A heated pool with an attached bar to add the cherry on the cake. You can also pamper yourself with a sauna and a massage which are right next to the swimming pool area.
Amenities
Apart from the basic necessities like towels, instant coffee, dental kits, etc. every room also offer a handful of other free amenities like heater, laundry bags, shoe cleaning strips, shaving kit, moisturizers among others. One can also ask for a hairdryer, shoe polish, multi-plug, DVD player, Books and Steam Iron on returnable basis.
Green initiatives
From producing 7000Kgs of garbage to producing 0 kg, The Chalet is the greenest property in Shimla and Naldehra. With their composting machinery, they recycle all the wet waste as compost and segregate the plastic waste to sell it further for recycling. The Chalet use solar heaters to generate electricity and uses the greenhouse effect to heat up the swimming pool.
How to reach?
Car
The most convenient way to reach is by car. It's an 8hr drive from the national capital. Just add 'The Chalet, Naldehra' on the maps or follow this link.
Bus
Umpteen busses run between Delhi and Shimla every day. Take a private cab from Shimla bus stand or take another local bus to Naldehra from Lakkar Bazaar bus stop in Shimla.
Air
Shimla (Jubbarhatti Airport) is the nearest airport from where you can hire a cab which will further take you to Naldehra in about 90 minutes.
