While I was on a visit to this lake, I found that this is the best place for the holiday goers. Besides this, the lake party which is gaining trend nowadays was also seen here which was very interesting. There are many cheap hotels in Nuwara Eliya where you can get good stay arrangements and enjoy the sightseeing at Lake Gregory. Lake Gregory is among the best places to visit in Nuwara Eliya.
2. Hakgala botanical gardens In Nuwara Eliya
When I think of botanical garden’s the first image which forms in my mind is that of Hakgala. This is the second largest garden situated in Sri Lanka. The garden is located along the Badulla Road. When I got the chance to see the botanical garden I was so engrossed in the mystic beauty of this place. The gardens are always covered with mist; along with the mist I could feel excellent fragrance and it seemed as though the garden was filled with color.
3. Laxapana falls In Nuwara Eliya
The waterfalls of Laxapana I must say was mind blowing. It is the first time I saw such exotic waterfalls. This is among the most famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka. The height of the waterfalls is about 129 meters. The waterfall emerges from the Laxapana estate and then it falls or rather merges with the Maskeliya Oya through Maoussakelle.
4. Lover’s leap waterfall In Nuwara Eliya
The best story to be remembered and told is a love story this is a massive rocky cliff along with a waterfall. I found this name to be interesting and came to know that it got its name as a couple gave up their life for love.

Horton National Park is the famous part located in Ohiya, Sri Lanka. This park hosts a large variety of fauna and flora. This is the best place for those who are wildlife and nature enthusiasts. The best time to visit is in the morning from 6 a.m. to 10 am.
