One of the amazing treks in karnataka, which has an amazing history and also famous for rare floras and faunas(frogs especially). We went on a 3 days trek, just after the place was hit by land slides. We also had to trek via the land slides area amidst the forest, which is another add on to the memory!• Ballalarayana durga is located near mudigere, a few kms away from kudremukh. The best time to visit the place is from october to march.Stay- durgadahalli home stay (where we felt at home), they also have games facilities at their homestay to kill the rest time, so all the sports lovers, this is your place!Trekking never fails to excite me.So why wait!? Get, set and Trek!❣
The fort is in complete ruins and only part of the wall structure exists now. Imagine back then building this fort and living in the middle of nowhere. I would have definitely signed up to it! The fort was built by the wife of Veera Ballalal, a Hoysala Empire king in the 12th century. Nothing is left but the reminders of the grandeur of architecture under the Hoysala kingdom.
