Day 1-We started our journey on 25th June, 2017. One can go to Chandra Taal by two ways, either from Manali or from Shimla. The buses are easily available for both Shimla as well as Manali from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Also, one can book the buses from HRTC online website as well as from Redbus or Paytm. However, I would recommend going by HRTC as sometimes private buses get cancelled. We took the Manali route. It is a long journey of 15-16 hours from Delhi. So, I would recommend that you should take a comfortable Volvo for a smooth ride.
So, we got together here in Delhi and started waiting for the bus, which was apparently running late. After spending around an hour at the bus stand, getting our stomachs filled with cup noodles and some cookies, we boarded the bus to Haridwar, and ended up going to sleep after minutes of chitchat. This was a RSRTC bus, AC semi-sleeper, pretty comfortable and clean and cost us around 400 bucks per head.
Hello,How are you guys? It had been a long time. Actually, I had not been to any trip for almost 6 months. Well, I had been busy with stuffs and other things in life. But, finally after taking my exam and traveling back to the room, I made up my mind that I would be going somewhere that day. At 10 o'clock, I was at ISBT Kashmere Gate, still not sure where to go. I saw the bus to Dharamshala and boarded it.
So I booked my ticket for 16th, reached Delhi on 17th and directly went to ISBT Kashmere gate using metro from Jangpura which was the nearest station to Hazrat Nizamuddin Station using a battery 3 wheeler. I got into the first bus I saw which was going to Haridwar. Without knowing about further availability of the buses, I was on my way to Haridwar. That journey was amazing. Whole journey I was sitting with the driver troubling him with n number of questions like will I get a bus to Rishikesh, will I get a tempo? I had booked my bungy jumping for 18th and I HAD to get there tonight! The bus had a nude wire which the driver connected to the terminal to blow horn. Weird. He told me to shut up and said he’ll help me get the bus. And he did. I reached Haridwar @8:45pm and then immediately got a bus to Rishikesh. Both the buses were unregistered buses with together cost me 244 + 39 = ₹283
Overnight Journey from Delhi to Manali by Volvo - 13 to 14 hrsOur journey started from Kashmere Gate, Delhi at 7:30 pm by volvo AC Sleeper. And we reached Manali at 8 am after covering long journey and narrow roads of Kullu but enjoyed the scenic beauty of lush green mountains and waterfalls.
