Sattal is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes situated in the Lower Himalayan Range near Bhimtal. The lakes sit at an altitude of 1370 metres below lush orchards in the Mehragaon valley. Set amongst dense forests of oak and pine trees, Sattal is one of the few unspoiled and unpolluted freshwater biomes in India. These lakes are a paradise for migratory birds. 5. Kayaking in the Sattal lakeAfter a round of instructions, a Sneha and I sat in our two-seater kayak to row our way through the still waters of the Sattal lake. Left-right-left-right-and so on we went paddling on the lake. Just like the kayak, I sailed through my fear of water too. I also floated in the water for the first time, thanks to the life-jacket provided to us for kayaking!
