Places to stay near Doge's Palace
Reviews of Doge's Palace • 4
The next day, bright (ok it was cloudy) and early, we went to the Palazzo Ducale, or the Doge's Palace. It's where the Doge, who was the top leader of Venice, lived. He was more like a figurehead, really. He was highly controlled by the government.
In the afternoon, we took a Venetian Islands Tour – Murano, Burano and Torcello. This is approximately a 4 hr tour with 30 minutes at each island. The tour departs from Saint Mark’s Square, the yellow box in front of the Prisons’ Palace between the Doge’s Palace and Hotel Danieli (close to Ponte dellaPaglia).
