When the Europeans arrived in Australia, a land so far from their own, they brought pieces of their own country and replanted them here— perhaps to ease their life in a fairly harsh landscape. Especially since many of them came from the gentle English countryside with all its lacy comforts, and were flung into the deep end of the Southern Hemisphere. Australia was a wild land, teeming with snakes, crocodiles and an unforgiving sun that shone long and hard. So, it must come as no surprise that the European settlers sometimes strung along things that would make them feel at home—mostly their favourite tree saplings, horses and timber-made ‘kit houses.’

Next day I flew in Jetstar from Perth to Melbourne, and took 3 hours 20 min. Again I was in a different time zone. On the same day I opted for a guided bus tour which had city highlights of Royal Botanic garden, Yarra river, bathing boxes, St. Kilda and tramcar restaurant. Saw the Melbourne cricket ground, Port Melbourne by the sea and Acland Street in St. Kilda. Got a lot of options there as its a vibrant cosmopolitan mix of funky bars, eateries, electic shops and world famous patisseries. They charged for this tour $ 65.

Melbourne CBDAlmost all the attractions of Melbourne city (e.g. – MCG, Eureka tower, Crown casino, Aquarium, Churches etc.) are present in the vicinity of Melbourne CBD area hence it is important to book your accommodation at CBD. The nightlife at Melbourne CBD is very hot and happening. The skyscrapers give a very modern look to Melbourne.
-Because Melbourne gives you the feel of Europe in Australia. You experience this vibe as soon as you land your feet on the streets of Melbourne, which can boast of a perfect mix of old and new architecture, numerous bar lanes, umpteen backpackers, even more travellers on a ‘Working Holiday Visa’, cheap accommodation facilities, good food and even better beer, excellent public transport, lively music scene, one of the most happening ‘Couchsurfing’ and ‘’ communities and endless spots to visit around.-Because all this comes bundled with the laid back Australian attitude and famous “Aus-Trah-Liya-n” accent which I can only try to enquote a few times in this article.
