Battle of PlasseyOriginally known as Palashi, Plassey is a small village in Nadia District of Bengal. The village gained historical importance after the Battle of Plassey in 1757, which marked the beginning of the British Empire in India. The war was fought between Bengal’s Nawab Siraj-Ud-Daula and British army led by Robert Clive.
