Puri
A beach city known worldwide for being home to one of the Char Dhams – Sri Jagannatha Dhama. Someday I will write a blog on Sri Jagannatha Dhama, but today I will just take you through a tour of the Puri beach & its flavors
60 kms away from the City of Temples – Bhubaneswar (Capital of Odisha) is Puri, well connected through both rail and road.
Best is to take a road trip, hardly 1& ½ hours ride. It’s a national highway and a very good road to drive on. You also have some good local restaurant enroute where in you can hop in for lunch or even morning breakfasts if you start early.
As you get close to Puri you get road side vendors selling Coconut water, Less commonly known as Coconut juice, more commonly know as the Daber Jol”.
And if you like the Malai part of it, then the guy is going to cut it for you.
I have visited lot of beaches in India, but Puri definitely has been special. Reasons being 1. You get a Holy or Divine dive, whatever you call it. 2. And the fact that I have visited Puri almost 30 or probably 40 times.
What flavors do you get on the beach.
The beach is always crowded specially in the mornings and the evenings.
I will present before you few of my close to heart photographs which not only will depict the character and tone of the place, but will actually reflect emotions
Old people/couple - When you see them you might not feel like staring at them. But seems they are really having a good time discussing the past. What drew my attention while clicking this photograph is the way this old couple were sitting on the sand and talking infront of a beach..
Motherhood - Sometimes we forget when motherhood starts or when does a mother's love start. So answer is very simple, it starts with the very thought of having a child. This photograph reminds me of my mother or infact every mother who has helped each and every child to take his/her initial steps and have assisted us to grow !!!
Friendship - What you see in this photograph is three friends having a selfie. Just think how different it is to click a selfie with friends in a restaurant, movie theatre, bar, shopping complex then clicking it on a windy beach !!!
Family time - Its fun to be with family. I was just wondering that this family would have clicked 100 plus photos in the same place without getting bored. So that's the bonding. Cant be so with outsiders or may be even friend...
Livelihood - The beach invites a lot of people from neighboring states and also from the whole of Odisha. The livelihood of many people depend on the tourists. The Jhal Mori is quite a cuisine there. Try it,,, its hell spicy !!!
Having a girl child - I dont know whether i could have named the photograph better. But the smile this girl was having while taking a photo of her father was really something which was out of the world for me. A girl child is really special. Hope someday everyone will understand !!!
Flight of Nature - When you visit beaches look for calmness. This is what exactly you get in Puri beach. Rather than seeing aeroplanes, you can see birds and you can see toys which can fly :-)
Dont look for any further emotions or concept behind this photograph. I wanted the blog to end in a colorful note !!!
