I visited Malaysia in May this year. A small 4 day business trip got me the flavour of the city. Clean, organized and metropolitan. I stayed in the New World Hotel, in Petaling Jaya. The pool, restaurant and bar on the 30th floor offered some amazing views of the city.
Amongst a busy week of meetings, I had only a day to look around. Started the day early with a drive to Genting Highlands. Highly recommend to take the BatMobil cable ride which offers 360 degree views. The glass floor will give you the chills and makes each penny spent to it's worth. Being on a tight schedule, I didnt have time to visit the casino or look around in great detail, but the place is a great day spend if you have time on your hands. Next on the list, I went to the KL Tower. It took me good minute to muster courage to walk into the sky deck; I felt proud that at least I didnt crawl like many others before me jn the queue. The all glass box made me go crazy clicking pictures of the panoramic views of the city. Tip: if you are alone, ask someone beforehand to take your pictures while you are in the box. I asked the professional photographer stationed to take a few photos and spent almost INR 3000 for a set of 8-10 photos. It pinched a bit, but the quality of photos was a huge relief. A keepsake forever. On the way down, I quickly stopped over at the observatory floor to get a clean glance at the city from the telescopes placed around. Next to pin were the Twin Towers and I was left in sheer awe at the engineering marvel. Finally closed the day with a nice dinner at a restaurant in Bukit Bintang, a hip street with a variety of bars and dinner places. Tired from the day, I returned to India the next day feeling happy and accomplished.
