Day 1

“The Earth has its music for those who will listen.” And I am one of the biggest fan of mother nature and always in search of her music and her wonders :)

This time we decided to explore Partnach Klamm and some beautiful lakes around this area.

Partnachklamm gorge is unique and romantic. This hike is perfect for everyone, even with children. In 1912, the gorge was declared a natural monument, fascinating everyone with its wild roaring waterfalls, white water rapids and pools.

Depending on the time of day and season, the Partnachklamm has a completely different effect on people. This is why I would advise to visit it more than once: It is always an impressive and wild wonder of nature.

I completely enjoyed the fall colours in this gorgeous gorge.

We drove there by car Mazda T6. The sun roof, speed and luxury of this car, Germany auto bahns, Bavarian beautiful nature was perfect beginning to this romantic trip.

Turn-by-turn directions from google

Start your hike towards the Partnachklamm at the Olympia Skistadion and follow the street in the upstream direction along the Partnach stream. On your right hand side you will see crosses to remind us of those who have died here in accidents. If you continue your way, you will soon pass the base terminal of the Graseck cable car. Here you can hire horse carriages to the entrance of the Klamm which is 20min walk.

Now, your way continues directly along the Partnach, and will lead you over small bridges and through tunnels and galleries. The path was made safe everywhere so that you can enjoy the fantastic views into the deeply cut gorge and up to the sky where the sunlight is reflected in the spray and drops of water. Towards the end of the gorge, the Partnach becomes a broader river valley. You can rest there on one of the benches and enjoy the view of the river valley before turning back and returning to the starting point at the Olympic ski station. Alternatively, you might decide to hike over Mount Graseck. In this case, you have to hike further after the end of the gorge until a sign to the left shows you the way to "Eckbauer/Graseck”. Follow this climb and you will arrive at the mountain farms of Mount Graseck. Here, you will have the possibility to stop for a bite to eat or refreshments, as you have clearly earned it. For your return trip, leave Graseck along the road that winds steeply downward until you reach the path through the hiking Trail Hike through the Partnachklamm Gorge and back via Wildenau, which you already used on your ascent. Now that you know your way back to the Olympia Skistadion, you will reach it soon.

We used cable car to reach down since it was already getting dark. The entrance was Adults: 6,00 EUR each. Horse carriage was around 17 euros for 4. Cable car was also around 19 for 4 of us.

We had booked our stay at 'Alpendomizil an der zugspitze' in a small town of Lermoos in Austria. Since we reached after it was dark we did not know what beauty is in store for us in the morning. As expected from the booking.com photos, we were greeted good morning by beautiful Alps and Austrian nature. A perfect relaxing stay.

We had originally planned to visit Luener See but due to bad weather prediction and non availability of seilbahn over there due to maintainence work, we changed the plan and decided to visit Highline bridge 179 and 2 beautiful lakes Plan See and Walchen See.

Day 2

Highline 179 is definitely view with a thrill. This was just 20min drive from Lermoos and we reached quite early when it had just opened at 9am. Good for photography :) The highline179 is a pedestrian suspension bridge in the form of a rope bridge over the Fernpassstraße B 179 south of Reutte in Tirol (Austria). It extends at an altitude of 113 to 114 m over the Ehrenberg castle world and connects the ruin Ehrenberg with the Fort Claudia.

The bridge swings slightly back and forth and the floor is only provided with grating grates where you can see the 113m directly down.

But for 8 € fee you get for his courage a wonderful panoramic view of the valley of Reutte and the surrounding mountains - a look just kick, as the slogan promises. I enjoyed the height, surrounding views before heading to the ruins of Ehrenberg. Nice walk with view inside the ruins.

Next stop was Plan See - again roughly 20mins drive from the bridge.

Plansee is a lake in the Tyrol area in Western Austria, near the border of Germany. There is no entrance to the lake :) only parking fees of around 4 euros for the car. The lake is famous for its outstanding water quality as well as its turquoise color and scenic views of the mountains in the background. It reminds me of the fjords of Norway, and besides its beauty, the fresh air and peaceful environment was so relaxing. There are many hiking paths in this area and lot of water sports activities which is good for summer. But for now, we just enjoyed its beauty, treat to eyes and started to our next destination walchen see.

Walchensee - a unique Bavarian jewel : It's the most picturesque lake in the Bavarian pre-Alps.The surrounding mountains and forests make for a beautiful panorama. We also took a cable car to the top and enjoyed lunch and beautiful alps and lake views from the top. The cable car was around 12 euros per person.
