Our group was consisted of boys and girls. We used to make plans of trips and picnincs. Most of the time decision makers were boys and we girls used to depend on them for all planning. They used to decide how to go, where to stay, where to stop, how much time to stop and so on. It didn't go well with us, so we decided to have only girls trip that too with limited people. Accordingly, we planned for Kerala in month of July 2017. So sharing herewith our experiences....
We three, Belinda, Sneha and me - met at Mumbai airport. We were very excited for our girls trip as we were the planners. We decided dates, places to visit, hotels to stay and so on....
We reached Kochin airport at evening. There we met our travel agent who introduced us to the our driver - Rijumon. He was man in 40's and our driver- guide cum bodyguard for whole next week. He dropped us at Hotel Rossitta wood castle. This hotel is very gorgeous and featured in many films including film Karwan.
The hotel was located at prime location of Fort Kochin. It was a heritage hotel mostly made of wood. We patted Belinda for her choice. There was little cafe and library in the hotel as well as Yoga and Spa facilities were also available. We jumped on bed to see our room.
After dinner we slept dreaming about our first day of expedition. First day we had city tour of Kochin.
Our first stop was at Fort Kochi beach which was nearby to our hotel only. We come to know that its one of the posh areas of Kochi. All the bunglows in vicinity were well maintained and beautiful. Here for the first time I saw Chinese fishing nets.
Nearby there was a St. Francis Church. For our surprise there was a tomb of Vasco da Gama. Though body is not kept there any more as it is transferred to Portugal later from where he belongs.
Being coastal area Kochi is important naval base. Navy museum of navy was very informative. We also had lots of fun by clicking funny photos with statues kept inside.
Our next stop was Kerala folklore Musueum and theatre. It's a private museum of one of its kind with collection of plenty of artworks from various parts of Kerala. Here also we had lots of fun
Our last stop was For Kochi backwaters tour. Fun of backwaters in city itself. We saw closely life of people living on coast. Got to see lots of birds there. We enjoyed our back water tour a lot.
A the end of the day we had unique experience of dining. At fort cochin there is a lane where there are eateries in line which cook fish brought by us. Accordingly we bought fishes from the nearby fish stalls with help of our driver and then handed over it to nearby eatery. They prepared delicious meal which we enjoyed a lot.
In such way after spending our day in exploring city of Kochin we went to spend our last night in that gorgeous hotel.
