KERELA - It's not just a state it AN EMOTION .
Everyone has heard of this Indian state as most literate and the most beautiful of state of the India. You will repeat the lines once you are through it.
Everyone is excited for this particular trip because one is sure of surreal landscape and serene beauty of Nature.
We were very excited for the trip on the day the tickets were booked and finally the moment was there. AND comes the final announcement - passenger's are requested to switch off their cell phones and tie their belts and through the beautiful clouds hailing the heaven we touched down kochin international airport.
Whenever you go with all your heart and emotion the whole universe will conspire you to achieve it.
We boarded early around 7 am in the morning at the Indira Gandhi international airport and deboarded kochin airport around 10am.
Looked for prepaid taxi to backwaters in Alleppey. Always go for state run taxi ,as it's easy to get and and it's fair enough. We then reached to Alleppey backwaters at around 12 in the noon, there were many houseboats available but our driver took away to the one he knew, he showed us the boats and allowed us to pick one up. Being in India , always choose the best that suits you. He arranged everything fastly with all our belongings in our respective rooms and other necessary things as we were ready to be lost in the beautiful backwaters.
We were into our dream house floating on water. We were restless like a child given his favourite toy. We restlessly went up and down in the houseboat till the time intercepted by the cook as he was preparing some good food. We hurriedly went to our rooms and freshend ourselves up so as the miss the least secenary.
We left the houseboat around 5 pm in the evening for KOLLAM. One can easily get a taxi from the place you deboard the houseboat. One have to be good at bargaining ,if traveling.
We reached Kollam at around 8 in evening at one of the best hotels, D'FORT near the beach and lighthouse area. We were tired physically but mentally more rejuvenated ,as beaches are our favorites with lighthouse adding to the surprise package.
Wake up early ,for work and wake up earliest ,for vacation.
Before the sun could come ,we were near the beach area looking at the serenity of the waves and lighthouse .
We went to hotel and picked ourselves up in beautiful costumes for beautiful place to visit,KOLLAM LIGHTHOUSE. We were on the top of the lighthouse at around 11am ,when the lighthouse opened.
Admired the beauty of the place , lighthouse and sea beach from the top of lighthouse.
We left the hotel with a private taxi to the next destination KOVALAM around 11/12 am and reached there around 3.30pm . We looked for hotel first but fortunately we got a stay villa.
We freshend ourselves with a small power nap too,as we worked hardest on vacations. We planned up for the lighthouse and sea beach again for the beautiful sunset.
ALL I NEED IS A SEA BEACH AND A SUNSET.
The night around the sea beach is all about good music,coloured light cafes , comfortable clothing, crowded markets and sea food. At around 8pm we were in a sea facing open cafe having food with the lovely view of market and tasty food.
The beautiful day was over as we reached our stay villa.
The next day we were to head for ATHIRAPALLY WATERFALL, thissur.
We left the hotel early around 5am as usual to catch the train from Trivandrum station to Ernakulam station as we had come to South of Kerela and we need to head north for the waterfall. So we decided to try one of the more mode of transport, Railways . The journey was about of 3hours but it was as beautiful as road trip with natural beauty spread across your feet. At Ernakulam , around 11am we took taxi again for the waterfall. We reached the waterfall point at around 1pm in the afternoon.
The waterfall was worth the journey but anyways if you are travelling through road or rail in this state it's always pleasant for your eyes.
We trekked down to the point from where you can hear and clearly see the roar of the waterfall piercing the mountain to make it way.
The picture was just breathe taking.
We left the area at around 3 pm for our last stop,FORT KOCHI in the same taxi. We stopped in the midway to have a traditional kerala lunch.
We reached FORT KOCHIN at around 6pm. We choose to stay as paying guest at FORT BUNGALOW,one of the best place to stay.
Next comes the best thing:
THE AMMA at the fort BUNGALOW speaks Malayalam,which i couldn't understand and then i spoke English which amma couldn't understand, still we communicated...the language of LOVE..
She called the owner and we were granted beautiful stayhouses. As usual we took very short time to freshen up and headed straight away to the CHINESE NET AREA(a traditional fish catching method).
We held up around the sea beach enjoying every moment and then headed back to nearby market for the dinner.
And comes the last day , we had to leave the homestay at around 7am in the morning as we had to catch our flight to Delhi at around 11am.
Still we got up early as usual and headed to the sea beach as it's always rejuvenating for us with sunrise as complementary to it.
At 11am,we were outside the KOCHIN Airport to start a journey to our home and to start a new journey,new place.
Departures are scintillating as it fills you with memories of your lifetime.
