Our Family tour Group BASS (Bojan Aaram aur Sight Seeing) goes for a trip once a year. So for the year 2012 we decided to explore Jammu & Kasmir and Himachal Pradesh.. On May 17,2012 we took off from Trivandrum Domestic Terminal To Delhi. And from there we had arranged a Bus for the journey.
By evening we had arrived at Delhi Airport and our journey to Jammu started. On the way to Jammu, we stopped for dinner at a Punjabi Dhaba.We spent the night traveling to Jammu on the bus.
We halted for a quick morning coffee in a McD on the way to Jammu.We reached Katra by evening.We had been to Katra on 2005 to visit Vaishno Devi Temple.But this time Katra was a stopover before our first destination Srinagar. I explored the small town of Katra with my camera. We spend the night in Katra.
We started our day by Cruising on the Shikaras in Dal lake.
Then we explored Srinagar..by evening we decided to visit various gardens of Srinagar
Our Trip got much more exciting this day. Sonamarg was on our itinerary.We reached Sonamarg by afternoon and wandered there..by evening we had to return back.But due to our luck or bad luck , wheel of the bus got stuck in mud, and there was a snow storm. Every tourist left the place. Only our group was stuck behind due to this event.We tried our maximum to push the bus out of the mud.But all our efforts were in vein..So basically for us kids it was an amazing experience, because it was our first snow storm..Then Indian Army came to our rescue and towed the bus out of the mud..It was one of the most memorable day of my life..We returned back to Srinagar by night.
Next destination was Gulmarg. We reached the top by Gondola
and withing few minutes there was another snow storm. People started panicking and I had never experienced this much cold in my life before.. It was really freezing..Within an hour I got down to the base station. Gulmarg had one of the most beautiful sceneries I have ever seen in my life.
