Kedarkantha journey Information

Kedarkantha Grounded in Western Garhwal in the Uttarakashi quarter, the Kedarkantha Trek is known for being one of the easy journeys of the country which can be attended by people who are in educated pedestrians and have no knowledge of previous trekking.

Still physical fitness is needed where one should be suitable to jog at least for 4 kms in 30 twinkles before committing for the touring stint.

As the altitude rises the air becomes thin and people needs to carry packs too, which can all be veritably delicate, without proper physical fitness.

With fascinating and witching sights of snow clapped Himalayas, the green verdure, lush geographies, myriad collection of foliage, firmed ponds, to the sights of mesmerizing peaks, this journey have all the pleasurable sensations that a mountaineer want to witness and view in his trip.

Not only for the WdrLust Adventure campaigners and pedestrians, to enjoy thrilling challenges, the Kedarkantha Trek is an ideal destination for the nature suckers to lounge in the beauty of unperturbed nature and enjoy pleasurable and joyful moments with exhilarating gests.

Original legends of Kedarkantha Trek

At the journey top, there's a gravestone- covered sanctum of Lord Shiva, which is framed by snow- covered mountains each around.

A Trishul is deposited on the sanctum’s ground, pointing towards the great blue sky. Locals visit the top every now and also to pay their respect at the sanctum, and a small tabernacle below is- also at the peak-that houses a statue of Lord Ganesha in peak summer every time.

People then believe in the fact that if the summer gests no downfall, laying Ganesha’s statue on the ground would affect in good rain.

Lord Shiva and the Bull story

According to the Kedarkantha legend, Lord Shiva sat at the peak to meditate but was disturbed by a bull, which was running below. So he went to Kedarnath, a city in Uttarakhand, to meditate latterly.

The Pandava legend

Another original myth relates to the Pandavas, who went to the Himalayas to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. Still, he hid from Bheem and disguised himself as a bull.

But, Bheem recognised him and went after him. So Shiva hid underground. When he rushed out from his caching place, he let his body corridor get divided, and each part fell at a different place.

His throat fell on the Kedarkantha, therefore earning the peak its name-transliteration-

.

“ the throat of Lord Shiva”.

The myth resembles the story of Panch Kedar, a set of five Shiva tabernacles-Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar and Kalpeshwar-located in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region.

According to this legend, the Pandavas, on the advice of Lord Krishna, sought Lord Shiva to pardon them for their sins of killing their kin during the Mahabharata. But, Shiva was angry with them for their conduct and avoided them by taking the form of a bull and leaving for the Garhwal region.

The Pandavas sighted Shiva grazing as a bull in the hills of Guptakashi and tried to snare its tails and legs forcefully. Still, the bull faded into the ground and latterly reappeared in the original form of Lord Shiva at five places-the bull’s hump at Kedarnath, legs at Tungnath, face at Rudranath, stomach at Madhyamaheswar and hair at Kalpeshwar. It's believed that the Pandavas erected five tabernacles at these places.
