'Now that I have captured your attention
I wanna steal ya for a rhythm intervention'
- Lyrics of a Selena Gomez song
Well, what exactly do I mean by slowing down? This is a fast paced world and everything we do or want: we desire it now. And then there is the Social Media.We absolutely love it. Travel is the new buzzword. Our Facebook walls, Instagram accounts, Twitter feeds and what not is flooded with photographs and taglines, with exactly serves the purpose social media sites came up for. From the newest place we go out to eat, to taking a selfie at the Eiffel Tower; our one day trip, to the wine tasting selfie we click millions of photographs. We, as a matter of fact, are the online generation; everything we do goes online. So, in this maddening, fast paced life of yours I am asking you to pause, Pause for a bit and embark a journey of self discovery while you travel.
I am not definitely asking you to stop taking photographs or using online media. Photographs are like memories engraved for a lifetime and your online accounts add for your presence in the world. However, for once try being in the moment, click a fewer pictures, have a deep conversation with a local, savour your pizza, go offline for a while, dance in the rain,enjoy a sunset, stare into a beautiful scenery, be in the moment and absorb the enormity that is right in front of you. I promise this is the road to self discovery.
I like to conclude by an alluring short poem I read online;
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
