Travel Benefits that you should be aware while travelling with a baby

Air travel with babies are not easy as it seems. Irrespective of how much planning and preparation you have done in advance it can still bring lot of surprises and uncertainties at end moment.

This blog you will find the tips and the list of Travel benefits which most of the airlines provide to ease your journey when accompanied by new born or toddlers . (completely Based on personal experience).

1. Babies below two(2) years are considered as "Lap Baby" in airline terminology and are allowed to travel free. Yes!! you heard it right,it is definitely a great time to plan your travels while giving some relaxation to your pockets.

2. Parents travelling with babies always get advantage of early boarding to aircraft . This will make you calmly settle with your child instead of standing in queues. You can also take advantage of putting your cabin luggage in those empty cabinets which would otherwise get filled.

3. Next very important benefit to know is that the baby stroller is NOT included in the Luggage limit defined by Airline . For Example if your airline allows you to carry 20 kgs luggage then stroller weight is excluded from the same. Moreover you can take stroller up to the aircraft door and handover to the flight attendant. Without a doubt Stroller is savior for all.

4. Another tip ,If your baby is below certain weight and height (check with Airline ) then you Can Pre- book a bassinet for the baby to sleep upto the age of two years. Remember to call Airline well in advance to check the availability since the number of Bassinets are limited.

5. Airline generally provide more leg space seats free of cost, if travelling with babies. Remember to ask while getting your boarding passes.

6. Most international flight provides baby food (Fruit and Veggies Purees). Make sure you check with airline before hand (Lufthansa & Eithad Airways to name a few) and book baby food in advance.

7. Most International flight provide a playing kit to kids inorder to keep them engaged in long flights. The play kit contains many things like puzzles, Colors, Drawing booklet, Soft toys etc and this will help you to pass those long ours of air journey.

8. Every airline has different policy on amount of Milk that can be taken in hand luggage. Specially if you are a nursing mother and have to carry expressed milk then you will be allowed to carry upto prescribed limit. It is suggested to check the limits beforehand for both expressed milk and formula Milk.

9. You can also ask attendants to assist you in warming milk ,home packed food or sterilizing Milk Bottles.

10. Few international airlines also provides baby essential like moisturizer, cleanser, wipes and diapers while travelling with little ones.

11. Few Airlines have dedicated baby friendly rest rooms with a facility of diaper changing table and nursing space.

Being well informed about the above benefits and talking to airline customer service in advance can be one good way to ensure that your travels are hassle free.
