Standing as tall as 4000 ft Savandurga is one of the largest monolith in Asia. Savandurga is formed by two hills known locally as Karigudda (black hill) and Biligudda (white hill). Savandi Veerabhadreshwara Swamy temple and Narasimha Swamy temple, situated at the foot of the hills.

2. Madhugiri Fort

At 3930 feet elevation, Madhugiri is a single hill (monolith). It is the largest in Asia and second largest in the world. Nestled in its steep slopes is a fort, once credited to Hyderaali. Antaralada Bagilu, Diddibagilu, and Mysore Gate are the three gateways of the fort. A series of doorways leads to the hillock. The ruined temple of Gopalakrishna is located at the top.

Shivagange is a mountain peak with a height of 1368 meters and Hindu pilgrimage center located near Dobbaspet, in Bangalore Rural district India. It is situated 8 km from the town of Tumkur and 54 km from Bangalore Shivagange is a tall conical hill with a series of temples on the way uphill. There is a small source of water at the top which is considered to be sacred. There are steps laid on the top with steel bars to hold on inorder to navigate the rocky terrain.

Known as Dakshina Kashi is a series of rocky hills situated in the Shathashrunga mountain range. There is a temple named Kashivishweshwara Temple in front of the pond dedicated to Lord Shiva. The pond gets continuous water stream from Nandi throughout the year. The origin of the water is unknown but believed that the water is falling from head of Lord Shiva. Visitors carry this holy water in bottles because it is also believed that one can get rid of the diseases by drinking this holy water of Antaragange.

Nijagalbetta has ruins of ancient temples and fort built by Chickadevaraya Wodeyar. There is a carved idol of Hindu deity Lord Hanuman near to the fort entrance where people come and feed the monkeys as a sign of worship. There is a Muslim Dargah inside the fort. There are some ponds inside the fort formed by water trapped between the gaps of rocks. There are many unexplored archaeological ruins near Nijagalbetta.

10. Gudibande Fort

Gudibande, a multi level fort was built by local chieftain Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century. The fort’s main feature, is the rain water harvesting with 19 rock ponds at different levels of the fort. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple, which is believed to be one of the 108 Jyotirlingas.
