We decided to go to Udaipur as this was on our list for a long time. We started from Mumbai on Friday 9 Pm by Bus and reached Udaipur around 11:45 AM and checked into our hotel. We had reservations in Aaram Mahal which is bang opposite City Palace and heart of the city.
On Saturday we took a rickshaw and visited Badi Lake which is half an hour drive from the city. However our main attraction was Bahubali mountain. Basically its another 5-10 minutes drive from badi lake and then 10 minute trek on a mountain. The view from Bahubali mountain is just mesmerising, in recent times this has become a perfect spot for pre wedding shoots.
Sunday, you can visit Kumbalgarh fort and Ranakpur Jain temple which are about 2 and a half hours drive from Udaipur, but the places are worth visiting especially the carvings in the Jain temple are wonderful. Here are some of the pictures of Kumbalgarh fort and Ranakpur Jain Mandir.
The best way to access the city is by hiring a scooter for yourself. There are many attractions in the city.
1. Saheliyo ki Bari
Fateh Sagar Lake
Nehru Observatory
Sajjan Garh.
Gulab Baugh.
Lake Pichola
Jag Mandir
Jagdeesh Temple
Gangaur Haveli.
City Palace
The city Palace is truly mesmerising and you will not know that you how you have spent 2 hours. Rich experience. Some of the pictures from City Palace.
Places to eat.
Although the street food in Udaipur is top notch. I would recommend Amrai Hotel and Charcoal by Carlssen. You will have good food, best view of the city by the lake and overall a fantastic experience. The place is reasonable and costly. You will need to reserve a table for Amrai if you want the best seats (be sure you go at least 15-30 min in advance)

Laal Maas is a famous delicacy in Rajasthan. A must have for all foodies out there.
