Me with the monks at SPITI (KAZA)

Travelling has been my passion right since childhood. As a kid, my school use to take us on trips and treks. Back then, it was only a way to get a break from the daily life of school and have fun with friends and party and relish every bit of it.

I use to enjoy every bit of it but not like a free bird as I do it now. As a kid, we were under the guidance of our teachers and were merely allowed to interact with the locals or live the culture and explore it on our own.

It's since then that the travelling bug has hit me hard. But, I made sure to begin with while first covering parts of India and on my own earnings as it would further make me value each and every part of the journey that I head towards.

So, what exactly travelling brought to my life:

1)It brought to me a sense of responsibility towards my goals and made me ambitious and taught me the value of savings. Savings can further be invested in any form and I chose to invest it in fulfilling my travelling goals.

And I did this road journey from Delhi on a shoe string budget !

2)It made me feel free like a bird and rejuvenated me and every time I came back from a trip, I only became more efficient in my work and more focused and determined. I was energetic and lively both inside-out.

At Kara Lake- A tough/moderate trek (Only a few have heard of it till date)

3)It made me value hardships of life. As I interacted with alot of locals while travelling to remote locations where the availability of electricity, water and food was also bare yet they wore a smile on their face and greeted us with warmth.

With a very friendly local and shop owner. She was full of warmth.

4)It made me realize that my heart belonged to the mighty mountains and the beaches and even though I am hydrophobic, I overcame it through the water sports activities. Travelling made me discover love and also get rid of my fear.

5)I became more independent and free and could face the challenges on my own(solo travelling teaches you more). It made me realize that I was responsible for my own actions not just during my treks/trips but also in Life.

This was a very challenging trek for me. I nearly slipped while trekking through the snow as getting a good grip was hard. My heart was literally out but this thrilling experience will be with me for a lifetime.

6)It added some more friends to my existing list and made me an extrovert from an introvert.

7)It helped improve my knowledge about the rich diversity of culture in my country and the importance of each. I became more sensitive and aware of my surroundings(nature, to humans and animals).

Loved to learn about their culture and daily life.

8)From a tourist lifestyle, it taught me to lead a traveler lifestyle and yet enjoy every luxury without a compromise. Hence, it made me good at making plans and smarter at making use of my money.

@As a traveler ,the journey is more close to your heart than as a tourist.

9)Well, apart from so many pros.it has few cons.as well. It makes you fall in love with travelling so much that after almost every 1 month or so you feel exhausted with your chaotic life and want to run away to a far away peaceful place for some me time.

I love to enjoy the beauty of Nature and have some me time. Sometimes, Silence is way better than noise. Away from the chaotic life and to the lap of nature.

Practically, it makes it tough if you have liabilities and responsibilities in life ahead and also cuts down your savings because the travelling keeda hits you so hard that you begin to think of backpacking every now and then.

10) Last but not the least, I too have thought and wondered of quiting my job for the love of being more close to nature and backpacking to every country in the world.

But, reality check- I CAN'T. I am thankful to God for a good job and I am content with it as you need money to fulfill your needs and goals and good career opportunities don't knock your door everyday. So, I will continue travelling but would love to do so by being well employed.

In the Lap of Nature.

So, friends- Don't quit your job for the passion of travelling. It's a short goal and you need to think and be smart for the long run.

Instead, always make sure to have one third of your earnings for the travelling passion that you have.

TRAVEL AS A FREE SPIRITED BIRD BUT HAVE NO REGRETS LATER!
